  • We recommend utilizing girth measurements over weight when selecting vest sizes.   While weight is sufficient in most cases, girth measurements tend to be the most accurate.  The illustration below will show you where to measure.    
  • NOTICE for Overlap Sizing-  If you have a dog that falls in between on sizing our general recommendation is for wider chested dogs to go up a size and slender built dogs go down a size.
  • These are the typical sizing guidelines.  99% of dogs will fit into these standard sizes, however some dogs do have unique structures and may need a custom fit.  If your dog does not fit into any sizes outlined below, please send us the measurements described at the bottom of the page and we will make a custom vest for you.

    Overview: The Boar Buster Pro Vest (Plate) offers the ultimate balance of mobility and protection for hog hunting dogs. Designed for all styles of dogs, this multi-use vest ensures durability and lightweight comfort.

    Material Composition:

    • Layers:
      • 2X 1050D
      • 1X 3000D Coated Kevlar
      • 1X Industrial Grade Seatbelt Webbing 
      • Outer Layer: Coated True Timber Orange Camo or Urban Viper

    Key Features:

    • Durability: Para-Aramid fabric combined with ballistics and seatbelt webbing ensures the vest is as tough as they come.
    • Mobility: The open rear leg hole design provides uninhibited movement, allowing your dog to achieve full stride and jump effortlessly.
    • D-Ring Attachment: The new D-ring attachment for the collar and side of the vest make it nearly impossible for the lead D-ring to be pulled off.

    In-Stock Version:

    • Standard: Comes in Option #2 with a Loop Tracking Collar Protector and True Timber Urban Viper color.
    • Custom Orders: Orange Camo and Collar Style options 1 & 3 are made to order, requiring 7-10 days for manufacturing.

    Sizing:

    • "PLUS" Size: Available in a “PLUS” version for dogs with longer necks like Staghounds. This version has a wider collar (approximately 5” wide) and the extends further back than the standard large size.

    Selected this vest for a 68lb Dutch shepherd, we live in North Central Florida. Lots of hogs, but coyotes and fox have become a big problem for my hens. My dog is a farm guardian and we do not actively go hunting. I found this vest extremely versatile and I think it will handle well in the summers. So far he’s in it 4-eight hours a day and is able to eat drink and relax while working the farm. I appreciate the customization of removing the GPS strap as that is not something we need in this case. The fit is great, there’s no wearing on his rib cage or back. I definitely feel more comfortable with him having this added layer of protection while still having full mobility.
