Cut Gear Cleaning and Care

One of the most common questions we get is how to clean and care for your cut gear.   With this blog we are going to go over a few of the dos and don'ts of caring for your hog dog cut gear.

• Wash with a medium pressure hose nozzle after every hunt
• Store out of direct sunlight
• If you perform a deeper clean, only use a light dish soap or hand soap and a medium pressure hose nozzle

• Do Not Machine wash
• Do Not use a high pressure sprayer
• Do Not use any high strength/harsh cleaners
• Do Not store in direct sunlight

All of the fabrics in our cut gear come with a water resistant coating.  Using a harsh cleaner, high pressure sprayer, or leaving your gear in direct sunlight for extended periods of time can degrade this water resistant coating.  In addition to this leading to potential water absorption, over time the loss of this coating can decrease the protective capabilities of the gear and lead to fabric failure.  A cut vest that has been left tied to a dog box, coated in mud and in direct sunlight for extended periods of time will be damaged eventually.  Taking the time to spray off your gear and store it properly will greatly increase the longevity and protective capabilities of your gear.
