We recommend utilizing girth measurements over weight when selecting vest sizes. While weight is sufficient in most cases, girth measurements tend to be the most accurate. The illustration below will show you where to measure.

NOTICE for Overlap Sizing- If you have a dog that falls in between on sizing our general recommendation is for wider chested dogs to go up a size and slender built dogs go down a size.

These are the typical sizing guidelines. 99% of dogs will fit into these standard sizes, however some dogs do have unique structures and may need a custom fit. If your dog does not fit into any sizes outlined below, please send us the measurements described at the bottom of the page and we will make a custom vest for you.

I have a Dogo Argentino who’s a guardian of my family and our home. He’s part of the family and severs the maximum job of tracking and running down and catching wild hogs here in north Texas. The Hogs get massive and the tusks on these wild boar are sharp and extremely tough. The attached collar on our vest gives our Dogo the maximum protection as he naturally grabs the hog by the ear w hitch places the hogs tusk in the most deadly spot to kit a juggler on the dog. With this collar attached witch out gaps keeps our boy Boogey Jr. Coming home with little to no harm done to him. Southern Cross Cut gear is second to none in my book.

Ordered the vest for a trip hunting the river swamps of NW Florida, my dog was able to move great in it straight out of the box, he even swam the river along with several sloughs with it on just fine. It's a great vest!
